President of the European Court of Auditors

The President of the European Court of Auditors is the head of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) , which has existed since 1975 . He is elected from among the members for three years (re-election is possible). The ECA, based in Luxembourg, is an independent control body of the European Union for budgetary control and submits an annual report on the use of European Union funds. The current president has been Klaus-Heiner Lehne since 2016 .

The role of the president is that of primus inter pares .
