Presidential election in Zaire 1984

The presidential election in Zaire 1984 was a sham election in Zaire , now the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

The then dictatorial president Mobutu Sese Seko from the Mouvement Populaire de la Révolution was the only candidate and the election was carried out in the form of a “yes / no” vote for or against his presidency. According to official information, 99.16% of the population who participated in the election voted “Yes”.
