The wrasse (Cheilinini) are a taxon of wrasse. They mainly include large and beefy-looking species such as the Napoleon wrasse ( Cheilinus undulatus ), which is the largest wrasse with a length of up to 2.30 meters. In addition, they represent the smallest wrasse with the two species of the Wetmorella genus, which are only 6 to 8 centimeters long .

Phylogenetically , the kingfish are the sister group of the parrot fish (Scarinae), which are mostly run as an independent family.
