Prager University (or PragerU ) is a US non-profit organization that creates videos on political , economic , societal and cultural topics from a right-wing conservative and right-wing populist perspective. She is close to the right wing of the Republican Party . Although PragerU has the title “University” in its name, it is not an academic institution and is not authorized to award certificates or diplomas.

The PragerU was founded in 2009 by the author and radio presenter Dennis Prager and the radio producer and screenwriter Allen Estrin in order to give right-wing conservative views a voice and counteract what they consider to be "left-wing" higher education and science. The target group are American teenagers and young adults who should be encouraged to adopt a right-wing conservative worldview. The association is based in the San Fernando Valley and had more than 20 employees as of March 2018.

University of Prague videos are mainly posted on YouTube and presented by different speakers within about 4–5 minutes. The speakers included people like Anders Fogh Rasmussen , Alan Dershowitz , George Will and Ayaan Hirsi Ali . Quite a few contributions cause controversy. In videos from PragerU , for example, the position is taken that 19th century European imperialism brought democracy to the ruled peoples, or that the Fridays for Future movement is controlled behind the scenes by interest groups that want to harm the American economy: there is man-made climate change it is true, but it is not serious.

In 2015 there were legal disputes with the company Google as the parent company of YouTube. PragerU accused the group of censorship; Conversely, critics accuse PragerU of deliberately spreading disinformation and conspiracy theories .

In November 2018, the YouTube channel contained 482 videos, which reached a total of one billion views in 2018. In August 2018, Facebook removed two PragerU videos from its platform and later stated that the videos were accidentally removed.

In August 2019 YouTube restricted videos from PragerU as "restricted". This makes access more difficult, especially from end devices with a corresponding filter such as a youth protection filter. Facebook is also said to have deleted several videos due to inappropriate content. In addition, various platforms reject PragerU as advertising partners, including Twitter and Spotify. Despite the market-liberal attitude, PragerU called this censorship and set up an online petition on its own website to express the protest .
