Praia da Claridade

Coordinates: 40 ° 9 '15.4 "  N , 8 ° 52' 16.8"  W The Praia da Claridade (dt .: "beach Brightness") is the city beach of Figueira da Foz at the Costa da Prata (dt. : Silver Coast) in Portugal . After its listed clock tower ( Torre do Relógio ), the beach is increasingly called Praia do Relógio .

It is characterized by its width and its eponymous lighting conditions. Its promenade, with its maritime patterned Calçada Portuguesa (the typical Portuguese paving ) and lined with trees and palm trees, is characterized by the clock tower , the Grand Hotel from 1953, and the high glass front of the Hotel Sweet Atlantic & Spa .

The Praia da Claridade has hosted several sporting events, such as the Mundialito (beach soccer) or the ISDE Portugal 2009, an enduro motorcycle race .

The RFM Somnii (also Figueira da Foz Sunset Festival ), a festival of electronic dance music with tens of thousands of visitors every year at the beginning of July, has been taking place here since 2012 . In the 2016 edition, u. a. DJ Snake , R3hab , Hardwell , Diego Miranda , Oliver Heldens and Galantis .
