Boxing training with claws

A claw is a punch pad that is used in combat sports and in martial arts to train punches and kicks. A claw is a large glove with a large pad on the palm.

training

The training partner holds his hand while the attacker hits or kicks it. Unlike in practice fights, in which the practitioner usually stops shortly before the technique hits, the punches and kicks are fully pulled through in claw training. Strength and speed of punches or kicks as well as various combinations are trained through the training. Timing and responsiveness also become effective. A good sense of distance is only developed after some time with the exercise. Another great advantage of the training in the claw is that it helps to lose inhibitions before the right strike. In almost every martial arts discipline, but also in some traditional styles, one encounters pad training.

techniques

There are many aspects that can be trained with claws:

  • Response to tactile and visual stimuli
  • Combinations of the different attack techniques
  • Endurance ( condition )
