The Premiership 2002 (referred to as the Northern Ford Premiership for sponsorship reasons) was the seventh season of the second English rugby league league . The first place in the table after the end of the regular season occupied the Huddersfield Giants , who won 38:16 in the final against the Leigh Centurions and were promoted to the Super League . In 2002 the York Wasps broke up after round 11 , their previous games were deleted from the table. As early as the next season, the York City Knights , a club from York, took part in league operations. After the 2002 season, the Premiership was split again into a second and a third division, the National League One and the National League Two.
