Società Entomologica Italiana

The Società Entomologica Italiana (SEI) is an Italian entomological society based in Genoa . The "Italian Entomological Society" promotes as a nonprofit organization , the general interest in entomology and research in this area through congresses, conferences, seminars and publications.

The society was founded on October 31, 1869 at the Natural History Museum in Florence , among others by Adolfo Targioni Tozzetti (1st President), Giovanni Battista Grassi , Antonio Berlese , Emilio Cornalia , Paolo Savi , Alexander Haliday and Achille Costa . Since 1922 it has been at the Museo di storia naturale Giacomo Doria in Genoa. Since 1869 she has published the journal Bollettino della Società Entomologica Italiana and since 1922 the Memorie della Società Entomologica Italiana . The company maintains a specialist library .
