Achille Costa

Achille Costa (born August 10, 1823 in Lecce , † November 17, 1898 in Rome ) was an Italian entomologist .

He was the son of the zoologist Oronzio Gabriele Costa (1787-1867). From 1848 to 1849 he was his father's assistant at the Department of Zoology at the University of Naples . On February 26, 1852, he graduated in medicine from that university. On October 29, 1860 he was appointed university professor of zoology there. He followed his father as a professor.

From 1850 on, Costa published numerous treatises on fauna in the Naples region.
