Beginning of the Premuziveva staza (Premužić path)

The Premužićeva staza (German Premužić hiking trail ) is located in the Northern Velebit National Park in Croatia .

This hiking trail, which is over 50 kilometers long, is named after the forest engineer Ante Premužić , under whose direction it was laid out in the 1930s. The most popular and most spectacular part leads from the area of Zavižan ( mountain hut , chapel , botanical garden) to Veliki Alan (pass above Jablanac , mountain hut) past the rugged cracks and crests of Rožanski kukovi . It offers many beautiful views and impresses with the numerous, well-maintained dry stone walls. From Veliki Alan the path continues to Oštarije .

Apart from the Premužić trail, there are many forest roads in the region that are also suitable for hiking.
