Preston Foster

Preston Foster (born August 24, 1900 in Ocean City , † July 14, 1970 in La Jolla , California ) was an American actor .

Live and act

Foster initially worked as a bus driver, shipping line employee and wrestler. He began his acting career during the 1920s. He has appeared in plays such as Two Seconds by Elliott Lester and The Silent House by George Pickett and John G. Brandon, but has also appeared as a singer with the Grand Opera of Pennsylvania.

With the dawn of the sound film age, he found access to film in Hollywood . He became known in 1932 as the one-armed inventor Dr. Wells in Doctor X and especially in 1935 as the leader of the Irish freedom fighter Dan Galagher in John Ford's The Traitor . From 1954 to 1955 he starred in the popular television series Waterfront .
