The Priest Pot is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England .
The Priest Pot is south of Hawkshead town and north of Esthwaite Water . It is believed that the lake once belonged to the Esthwaite Water, but that it was separated by siltation .
The lake was used as a fishing pond, first by the monks of Furness Abbey , which explains its name, and later on Hawkshead Hall.
The lake has three unnamed tributaries. Its drain flows into the Black Beck .
