Prima TV (officially: Prima televize ) is a full-program private television in the Czech Republic . The owner is the company FTV Prima, the general director of the station is Marek Singer. The broadcaster's headquarters are in Prague .

TV Prima has been broadcasting since 1992. Initially , a program for Prague and Central Bohemia was broadcast under the name FTV Premiéra , later Premiéra TV . In 1994 the station received a broadcasting license with the condition that part of the broadcasting time was made available to local and regional broadcasters. Although this contract has faded into the background over time, the broadcasting license was extended from 2003 to 2018.

On January 3, 1997, the name Prima televize , which means “first” or “great” television in Czech , was adopted.

In autumn 2005 the Swedish MTG group took a 50% stake in the company.
