Primaris Airlines Inc. was a US charter airline based in Las Vegas . The company's home airport was Las Vegas Airport .
history
The company was founded in 2002 and began flight operations on June 1, 2004 with a national FAR Part 121 certification for the United States. Primaris Airlines offered flights between the metropolises of New York and the east coast of the USA as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco on the west coast of the country. The company had 140 employees in January 2008 and operated three Boeing 757s .
The airline's concept was based on the symbiosis of an efficient low-cost airline and a service that was to rival business class. Against the background that fewer and fewer companies are willing to pay business class tariffs for their employees, but the low-cost airlines are rigorously saving on service, the airline wanted to serve a market niche . However, Primaris filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on October 10, 2008 and ceased operations on December 1, 2008.
fleet
The airline planned to use a fleet of economical Boeing 737-800s on continental routes from 2007 , but then used three Boeing 757s . The Boeing 787 was to be used on intercontinental flight operations from 2009 , including between New York and Frankfurt. The orders for the production of the aircraft were placed with Boeing in 2004, making Primaris the first US airline to order the newly developed Boeing 787. The order included 20 Boeing 787s to expand international flight operations, but was withdrawn by mutual agreement in June 2006 without giving reasons. At the same time, the order for 20 Boeing 737-800s was withdrawn and 40 agreed delivery options were returned.
