Prindle (boat class)
Prindle catamarans are small and light sailing catamarans that are used for both regattas and recreational boating.
The first Prindle catamaran was designed by Geoff Prindle . The manufacturer was the US shipyard Performance Sailkraft .
history
In 1971 the American Geoff Prindle introduced the Prindle 16 sports catamaran . This was followed by the Prindle 15 and other models. The Prindle catamaran was designed to ensure a significantly higher buoyancy with the same boat length and thus effectively counteract the so-called undercutting (the lee bow of the catamaran is pushed under water at the front).
