Prioress Iceland is a small island in the Wilhelm Archipelago off the west coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . In the group of the Wauwermans Islands , it is 0.8 km east of Host Island .
The island is first shown on an Argentine map from 1954, but it has not yet been named. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after a figure from the Canterbury Tales by the English writer Geoffrey Chaucer , written around 1387 .
