Priscilla Lawson
Priscilla Lawson (born March 8, 1914 in Indianapolis , Indiana as Priscilla Shortridge , † August 27, 1958 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .
Life
Before Priscilla Lawson won the Miss Miami Beach title in 1935, she modeled very successfully for several years. She soon became aware of Universal Pictures and she made her film debut shortly thereafter. In 1936 she was already at the height of her career. She played the princess Aura in the science fiction series Flash Gordon . After that, only a few more trivial films followed. In 1941 she retired into private life.
During the Second World War , she served with her then husband, actor Alan Curtis , in the Armed Forces. There she should have lost her right leg. Other sources claim she lost her leg in a car accident.
Priscilla Lawson died of internal gastrointestinal bleeding at the age of 44. Her grave is in Oak Memorial Park in Los Angeles County, California.
