Prix Solaris
The Prix Solaris is a Canadian literary prize that has been awarded by Solaris magazine since 1977 for unpublished French-language short stories from the fields of science fiction or fantasy . The magazine was originally called Requiem and was renamed Solaris in 1979 . The prize was originally called Prix Dagon - based on the well-known story Dagon by HP Lovecraft - and was renamed Prix Solaris from 1981 . A jury will decide on the award. The award-winning story will then be published in Solaris . The award is also endowed with $ 1,000 . It is awarded at the annual SF Convention Congrès Boréal in Québec .
From 1982 to 2000 a prize was also awarded for unpublished comics.
