Per Ötztaler 5500

The Pro Ötztaler 5500 is an international road bike race that is held as a one-day race with start and finish in Sölden , Austria .

The competition is organized by the organizer of the Ötztal Cycle Marathon . The first edition took place two days before the Jedermannrennen in 2017 and was part of the UCI Europe Tour in UCI category 1.1. With a total of 5500 meters of altitude , the route led over the Kühtai , the Brenner Pass , the Jaufen Pass and the Timmelsjoch and, according to the organizers, is the most difficult one-day race in the world.

At the end of 2017, the organizer announced that the 2018 event would be canceled due to a lack of television presence due to conflicts in the UCI calendar.
