Race course

Shortly after the start, six drivers led by Roger Kluge (Germany / Orica) pulled away. They were put back up to the Kühtaisattel. In the Kühtaisattel a new top group with eight men with Ruben Plaza (Spain / Orica) formed. The mountain classification on the Kühtaisattel was won by Daniel Lehner (Austria / Felbermayr). The eight had a maximum of 5:30 minutes ahead. On the way to the Brenner Pass, Plaza and Lehner pulled away and Lehner secured the mountain classification on the Brenner Pass. Plaza set off from Lehner in the Jaufenpass and was the first up there. In the departure, Roland Thalmann (Switzerland / Roth) drove up to Plaza.

Up to the Timmelsjoch, the two were caught up as the last runaways and there were about 30 men at the head. It was an elimination race up to the Timmelsjoch. When only Roman Kreuziger and Simon Špilak were at the top, Spilak Kreuziger could no longer follow. Kreuziger continued as a soloist and won the race in Sölden . Spilak followed 43 seconds behind. Third place went to Italian Giulio Ciccone (Bardiani), who was over 1:30 minutes behind.
