The Probanka financial group is a medium-sized credit institute in Slovenia with headquarters in Maribor .

Business figures 2005

The bank had a market share of 2.2% and offered financial services to private and corporate customers in 8 branches across the country. Probanka also has branches in Ljubljana , Koper , Koroška , Kranj and Celje , which have been gradually closed since 2014.

The balance sheet total in 2005 was 870 million euros. With 250 employees, the bank generated a profit of EUR 2.7 million.

Probanka was the largest shareholder in the Slovenian stock exchange Ljubljanska borza .

history

The bank was founded in 1991. From 1994, credit card business ( Mastercard ) and fund business were offered for the first time . A subsidiary for the leasing business was founded in 1996.

In December 2013, due to high losses, the administration and orderly liquidation of the bank was initiated by the Slovenian central bank as the supervisory authority. On December 17, 2014, the central bank also took over 100% of the bank's equity. Since then, the ordinary liquidation process has been under the control of the central bank. The bank is gradually closing its banking business and selling its fixed assets.
