Prokop Miroslav Haškovec

Prokop Miroslav Haškovec (born February 1, 1876 in Bechyně , † December 20, 1935 in Brno ) was a Czech Romance studies and literary scholar.

life and work

Haškovec studied in Prague, Paris and Heidelberg. He was first a grammar school teacher, did his doctorate with Jan Urban Jarník with the work Rabelais study literárně-historick (Prague 1907) and taught from 1908 at the Charles University in Prague , from 1920 as a professor at the Masaryk University in Brno (there 1925-1926 Dean).
Haškovec was a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
Prokop Miroslav Haškovec was the brother of Ladislav Haškovec .
