Prometheus Trap is an American low-budget - science fiction film from the year 2012 . Directed by Andrew Bellware and written by Steven J. Niles . The film is about the crew of two spaceships that get caught in a time warp during an interstellar war. The film was distributed directly on DVD in Germany from December 13, 2012 .

action

The two-man crew of the spacecraft Venon is awakened from a deep sleep by the ship android Finn; they are supposed to recover the wrecked spaceship Prometheus, which transports a decisive weapon in the bitter war between Earth and the Alliance of Colony Worlds. In the Alliance ship Prometheus, the three-man crew of the Venon finds the bodies of six of the eight crew members as well as the ship android Artemis, which behaves strangely; she anticipates the sentences, so to speak, of the crew of the Venon who have come on board. Finn is supposed to try to get something out of Artemis; Captain Haskin and her assistant discover two survivors in deep sleep. There are increasing indications that a saboteur is on board. Everything seems to point to the ship android; The Prometheus mechanic, Trent, who was born on earth, then kills all other people and blows up the weapon and with it the Prometheus.

The action then begins again with the arrival of the crew of the Venon on the Prometheus. But only the two androids have a memory of what happened before; Artemis seems to remember well and has come to terms with fate; Finn only remembers fragments and wants to change the course of time, even against Artemis' fatalism.

criticism

Although the film is often criticized for the lack of special effects and various inconsistencies in the script, it has attracted an interested, if not enthusiastic, audience.

The film service thinks Prometheus Trap is a "cheaply produced star wars game at school theater level that uses the darkness in space" to "hide its cheap effects".
