The Promontorium Archerusia (Latin for Cape Archerusia ) is the foothills of the Montes Haemus mountains on the moon on the border between Mare Serenitatis and Mare Tranquillitatis , northwest of the Pliny crater .
The name introduced by Johannes Hevelius is a misspelling of Acherusia ( ancient Greek Ἀχερουσία ), in ancient geography a cape in Paphlagonia on the Black Sea , today Baba Burun ("Cape Baba") near Karadeniz Ereğli in Turkey.
