Proschwitz is a district of the town of Dommitzsch in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

The district of Proschwitz is located northwest of the city of Dommitzsch in the Elbe lowlands west of the river on federal highway 182 . The 276-hectare district is located in the floodplain on alluvial soil, which is mostly used as meadows and pastures. The areas outside of the floodplain sites mostly have sandy soils.

history

The settlement consisting of a single estate and a mill was first mentioned in 1454 as Braschwitz and the mill in 1791. In 1551 the village was called Proßwitz , before Proschwitz was spoken of in 1791 . This is what the district is still called today. In 1747 the place had 24 inhabitants, in 1818 193 and 1939 221 people lived in the developing village. The manor, mentioned in 1747, managed the area.

On July 1, 1950, Proschwitz was incorporated into Wörblitz . The village has belonged to Dommitzsch since 1999.
