history

In 992 the settlement area Wirbilendorf was first mentioned in a document. In 1560 the village was already called Werblitz , which was also called that in 1791. Now the village of Wörblitz is a street village and the farmers cultivated a total of 412 hectares of land in and outside of the dike in 1895 . The population increased from 21 in 1748 to 287 in 1910 and 725 in 1999.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Greudnitz and Proschwitz were incorporated.
