The Pryor Cliff is a striking rock cliff on the Walgreen coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . At the northern end of the Hudson Mountains , it rises 8 km northeast of Mount Nickens, facing the Cosgrove Ice Shelf .
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after the American cartographer Douglas A. Pryor, the played a key role in the creation of USGS maps of Antarctica .
