Adam Przeworski
Adam Przeworski (born May 5, 1940 in Warsaw ) is an American political scientist of Polish origin.
He holds a master's degree from Warsaw University and a doctorate in political science from Northwestern University . He has / had professorships at universities in New York and Chicago . Teaching and research work took him to universities and research institutes in Chile, France, Germany, India, Poland, Spain and Switzerland. He has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 1991 ; in 2001 he was awarded the Wilson Prize and in 1998 the Luebbert Prize.
Przeworski, who was also assigned to the analytical or " rational choice " Marxism, devotes himself to a. the double transformation of Eastern Europe (towards market economy and democracy), the analysis of economic and political reform and development strategies in general and the criticism of the unreflective implementation of standard recipes for market reform and development policies.
