Pseudorhipsalis himantoclada is a species of plant in the genus Pseudorhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Pseudorhipsalis himantoclada grows shrubby with up to 1 meter long shoots . The flat shoot sections are upright or curved and taper towards the base and tip. They are less than 3 centimeters wide, bright green, shiny and have a reddish tip area when young. The midrib is clearly pronounced. The edges are serrated. The side shoots are no more than 20 centimeters long.
The individually appearing, somewhat spread out flowers are 26 millimeters long. The outer bracts are brownish or reddish, the inner whitish. The small fruits are red.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Pseudorhipsalis himantoclada is distributed in Costa Rica , Panama and Colombia at altitudes of up to 600 meters. The first description as Rhipsalis himantoclada was published in 1908 by Robert Roland-Gosselin . Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose put the species in 1913 in the genus Pseudorhipsalis .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN is the species as " Near Threatened (NT)", d. H. listed as low risk.
