The portal, which has been open to the public since 2012, sees itself as an open Internet forum whose users can make their own contributions. Contributions that have already been edited and that have to meet scientific requirements are checked by a volunteer editorial team before they are published and then put online . As of November 2013, the editorial team had seven members in Vienna and eleven corresponding members from Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Content

The German-language version - an English-language edition is under construction - presents the sections biographies and documentation as well as a chronicle of their institutions in the field of psychoanalysis. There are also notes for the user for archives and bibliographies. Finally, the portal also wants to present special topics on psychoanalytic theory.

structure

Psyalpha, which describes itself as a knowledge platform for psychoanalysis, aims in its structure at an interweaving of knowledge transfer, databases and research. Differentiated and associative approaches to the complex thinking of psychoanalysis are available to the user. At the same time, Psyalpha serves as an expert instrument for research, knowledge transfer, discussions and cooperation on a local and international level. The portal is operated with the open source software Drupal .

This scientific initiative is structurally supported by psychoanalytic societies, but the portal is by no means their representative or their advertising medium. For this reason, too, there are no announcements of conferences or scientific publications.
