The Psychiatric Hospital Rokiškis ( lithuanian Rokiškio psichiatrijos ligoninė ; abbr. RPL ) is a psychiatric hospital in the rokiškis district municipality , in the district of Panevezys , Lithuania . The sponsor is the Ministry of Health of Lithuania . The mental hospital has a large (over 7 hectares) area with areas for rehabilitation, recreation, employment, vocational training and other purposes. The average duration of treatment for patients is about 2 years. In 2013, 1112 patients were hospitalized, 1090 posted and 241 rehospitalized.
history
In 1974 the Soviet-Lithuanian psychiatric clinic was established in the town of Rokiškis . The first chief physician from 1974 to 1978 was Judickas. On December 17, 1991, a special department for the treatment of criminals was established under the order of the Government of Lithuania ("Dėl specialiojo psichiatrijos skyriaus įsteigimo"). On December 16, 2014, Lionginas Virbalas , Catholic bishop of Panevėžys , consecrated a chapel .
