Psychology of worldviews

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Psychology of Weltanschauung is a work that Karl Jaspers published in 1919. In it he turned away from psychology to philosophy and tried to create a typology of world views based on Wilhelm Dilthey and Max Weber . He acquires understanding psychology and thus takes a step towards existential philosophy . The work "contains Jasper's first philosophical utterance and thus shows the basic tendency of Jaspers' philosophy".

The German physicist Arnold Berliner recommended Psychology of Weltanschauungen in the same year of publication to the physicist and philosopher Moritz Schlick , a leading head of the Vienna Circle , for reading with the request to “discuss it in the 'natural sciences'”.
