Publius Valerius Laevinus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Publius Valerius Laevinus was consul together with Tiberius Coruncanius 280 BC. Chr.

He was the commander of the Roman forces in the battle of Heraclea , which was lost to Pyrrhus of Epirus . But he prevented the loss of Capua , Neapolis and Rhegion . The tradition of the battle is considered badly distorted.
