The administrative community Dornburg was in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . The city of Dornburg (Saale) and nine municipalities had come together in it to carry out their administrative business. The seat was in Dornburg (Saale).

The administrative community was founded on December 30, 1994. The dissolution took place on February 1, 2005, as member communities merged with the city of Camburg and the places supervised by Camburg as a fulfilling community to form the new administrative community Dornburg-Camburg .
