Pueblo Lavalleja , also known as Lluveras , is a city in Uruguay .

location

It is located in the north of the Salto department, a few kilometers from the border with the neighboring Artigas department in the Cuchilla de los Arapeyes . The Río Arapey Chico runs north, the Río Arapey Grande south of the city. To the southwest of the city are the Cerro del Viraró and the Cerro del Tala . To the east, about halfway to Pueblo Ruso and Guaviyú del Arapey , is Cerro Minuano . The distance from Pueblo Lavallejas to the departmental capital Salto in a south-westerly direction is approx. 120 km.

history

Pueblo Lavalleja was founded in 1860. This was recorded in the legal regulation Ley 613 on March 5, 1860.

Infrastructure

The city has the Escuelas No. 17 and 18, as well as the “Grail. Juan A. Lavalleja “named No. 19 about three schools. In terms of transport infrastructure, it is accessed via Ruta 4 , which passes east in a north-south direction . A few kilometers south of the city, this is crossed by the Ruta 31.

Residents

The population of Pueblo Lavalleja is 1,049 (as of 2004). In the 1996 census there were only 713 inhabitants.
