The Puerto Soberanía ( Spanish for sovereignty -Port is) a side bay of Discovery Bay of Greenwich Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . The natural harbor is located on the east bank of the bay, is ice-free in the Antarctic summer and offers good protection from easterly winds.
Scientists of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946-1947) named it in connection with the Soberanía station built there (today Arturo-Prat station ).
