Pulsonix is a software for creating circuit diagrams and designing printed circuit boards (also called EDA tool, in German for design automation of electronic systems). It is produced by WestDev , headquartered in Gloucestershire , England, with additional sales offices in Europe and other continents. It was first published in 2001 and runs on Windows .

development

The British software house Westdev developed the ECAD software Pulsonix in 2001. The core of the development team previously worked on CAD software at Racal-Redac.

A major goal of the developers was to make the software easy to use without having to complete intensive training beforehand, which was required for most ECAD tools at the time.

The software was part of the EU-funded “HERMES” project (2008–11), which dealt with the integration of components into the inner layers of the printed circuit board and changes in the processes of semiconductor manufacturers.

The project started with eleven industrial and research partners and had the goal of making the embedding technology (also known as packaging) for semiconductors ready for series production in order to be at eye level with the Asian market.

Pulsonix or Westdev was contacted at the time to support the project. Other contributing tool makers were Cadence, Mentor Graphics, and Zuken. These tools can model components on the inner layers and generate the corresponding production data for the circuit board manufacturer.

description

Pulsonix is a Windows application for the creation of circuit diagrams and electronic layouts of all kinds. There are three expansion levels, ranging from 1000 pins to an unlimited number of pins. All three include an autorouter.

Within a dual monitor setting, the circuit diagram and layout processes can be displayed on individual screens. Changes are synchronized as required. Various interfaces enable data to be exchanged with other systems.
