The Fengning power plant will have an installed capacity of 3600 MW . The average annual generation is expected to be 3.424 billion kWh . When completed, it will be the world's most powerful pumped storage power plant off Bath County .
The transmission system operator State Grid Corporation of China will use the power plant to cover peak loads and as an emergency reserve.
The Andritz received an order for the supply of two pump-turbines and the necessary guidance and control technology. The output of the turbines is 330 MVA in generator mode and 354 MVA in pump mode. The order value for this is around € 70 million.
The total cost of the project is given as $ 1.87 billion .
