Higuera de Vargas is a Spanish municipality (municipio) in the province of Badajoz in the autonomous community of Extremadura . In 2016, the municipality had 2,011 inhabitants on an area of ​​67.6 km².

location

The municipality is located around 57 km south of the provincial capital Badajoz and 11 km northeast of Alconchel in the southwest of the Badajoz province . The Río Alcarrache flows north of the town center and flows into the Guadiana after crossing the border with Portugal .
