Tagten Phüntshog Ling is a Buddhist monastery in the Pengcuolin Municipality in Lhatse County in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It is located at an altitude of 4100 m.

history

Tagten Phüntshog Ling was built according to the plan of the capital of the legendary Kingdom of Shambhala . Its foundation goes back to Dölpopa Sherab Gyeltshen (tib .: dol po pa shes rab rgyal mtshan ; 1292-1361), who was also called Künkhyen Jonangpa (tib .: kun mkhyen jo nang pa ). Extensive restoration work was carried out by Taranatha (1575–1634) in 1615. The monastery was at times the main center of the Jonang School in Tsang .

Tagten Phüntshog Ling has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-766) since 2006 .
