Künkhyen Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen ( Tib. Kun mkhyen dol po pa shes rab rgyal mtshan * 1292 , † 1361 ) or short Dölpopa was an important Lama of Jonang -Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and philosopher. Dölpopa was a student of Künpang Thugje Tsöndrü ( kun spangs thugs rje brtson 'grus ; 1243-1313), the founder of the Jonang monastery . Under Dölpopa's influence, the Jonang tradition ( jo nang pa ) developed into an independent school of Tibetan Buddhism in the 14th century .

He was a monk of the Sakya Monastery and later the Jonang Monastery . He was a Kalachakra specialist and was the first to formulate the doctrine of Shentong (Tib .: gzhan stong ) in writing, especially in his work Ri chos nges don rgya mtsho ( ri chos ). He is also known as the Buddha of Dolpo ( Dol po'i Sangs rgyas ).
