Punta de la Atrevida ( Spanish ) is a headland in the south of Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .
Argentine scientists named it after the Atrevida , one of the two ships on the Alaska expedition (1789–1791) of the Italian navigator Alessandro Malaspina in search of the Northwest Passage .
