history

The Puppet Theater Plappermaul was created in 1999 on the initiative of Winfried and Simone Hilden Beutel. The following year the first appearance took place - with a self-made mobile peep box stage and the first self-composed theater piece. More committed players soon joined and strengthened the ensemble. With its rapidly growing repertoire, the theater played from then on, particularly in schools, kindergartens and community centers in and around Heidelberg . Thanks to an article in the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung , the Plappermaul puppet theater found a permanent home in 2004 and until 2014 had a permanent venue in the Stephanushaus of the evangelical Emmaus community in Heidelberg-Pfaffengrund . There the puppet theater team realized a total of 132 performances in 2013 and welcomed around 9,200 visitors. After a long search, the puppet theater found a new venue in the “Old Wash House” at Steinhofweg 20, which was opened on November 1, 2015 after intensive renovation and renovation work. In addition, the Plappermaul puppet theater regularly plays in kindergartens and schools with its mobile peep box stage.

The Puppet Theater Plappermaul has been a member of the Federation of German Amateur Theaters and the State Association of Amateur Theaters in Baden-Württemberg since 2003 . It is financed exclusively through the proceeds from performances and through membership fees.

repertoire

The repertoire is aimed at children between three and eight years of age. The program focuses on in-house productions, mainly fairy tales and puppet plays . The program is supplemented by guest performances.
