Pyritzer Bahnen
The Pyritzer Bahnen had been part of the Pomeranian State Railways since January 1, 1940 . Up to this point, they were jointly owned by the State of Prussia, the Pomeranian Provincial Association and the Pyritz district , which was in the south of the province; they traded initially as Pyritzer Kreisbahn , later as Pyritzer Kleinbahnen .
history
On August 22, 1898, operations from the district town, which had been a station of the Stargard-Cüstriner Railway Company (SCE) since 1882 , opened on two standard-gauge lines. One led in an easterly direction to the village of Plönzig, which was 19 km away, the other 22 km in a westerly direction to Woltersdorf, which was already in the neighboring district of Greifenhagen.
However, the trains continued to Klein Schönfeld and used the tracks of the AG Greifenhagener Kreisbahnen for 6 km from the district boundary , which had also belonged to the state railways since 1940 and had the same operator as the Pyritzer Kreisbahn since 1910. That was initially the small railway department of the provincial association, then in 1920 the Vereinigung Mittelpommerscher Kleinbahnen GmbH and from 1936 the regional railway directorate in Pomerania. Before 1910, initially the Stargard – Cüstriner Railway, then from 1903 the Prussian State Railway operated on behalf of the Kreisbahn.
The timetable for 1914 shows three pairs of trains a day; in the summer of 1939 there were four pairs of trains on Sundays and five on weekdays. Some trains even ran from Pyritz to Greifenhagen.
In 1939 there were 3 steam locomotives and 1 railcar, as well as 6 passenger cars, 2 pack wagons and 42 freight cars.
The line to Plönzig was quickly shut down after the war, the Pyritz (Pyrzyce) - Klein Schönfeld (Chwarstnica) line continued to be operated by the Polish State Railways until 1996 or 1997 and then closed.
