Pytheos
Pytheos , also Pythis , (* approx. 390 BC; † in the last quarter of the 4th century) was a Greek architect and sculptor .
Well-known buildings of Pytheus were the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and the Temple of Athena in Priene . The entire Hellenistic- Ionic temple architecture was influenced by Pytheos' buildings and was based on his model in terms of structure and proportions. Pytheos also wrote theoretical writings, including a book on the mausoleum, which were later used by Vitruvius .
