The Fiat Linea is a passenger car model from the Italian car manufacturer Fiat , which was developed in collaboration with Tofaş . The four-door notchback sedan with five seats was presented at the Istanbul Motor Show in November 2006 and is produced in Bursa ( Turkey ), Betim ( Brazil ), Naberezhnye Chelny ( Russia ) and Ranjangaon ( India ). It appeared on the market at the end of June 2007.

Details

With a length of 4.56 meters, the Linea has the dimensions of a sedan in the lower middle class . It is based on the jointly developed by Fiat and GM "Small Platform" for the small car Grande Punto and Opel Corsa D is used. For the Linea, the variant with an extended wheelbase (LWB) is used, on which the Opel Meriva B and Fiat Doblò , among others , are built. The basic price of 13,000 euros, the choice of engines with a maximum output of 88 kW and the use of rear drum brakes are an indication of the orientation towards the standards of today's small cars. In this respect it is somewhat similar to the Dacia Logan . The chassis consists of MacPherson struts and wishbones at the front and a torsion beam axle at the rear.

Rear view

The body was designed in the Centro Stile Fiat , based on the Grande Punto and gave an outlook on the design of the new Fiat Bravo at the time .

The vehicle, which is available in the three equipment versions Active (basic equipment), Dynamic and Emotion , has an anti-lock braking system , four airbags , central locking and an on-board computer as standard . The higher-quality equipment also includes head airbags, fog lights , air conditioning and a Blue & ME hands-free system with voice control and USB port.

Optionally, a parking aid , a rain sensor , 17-inch alloy wheels and leather upholstery are also available. ESP is only available together with the diesel engine at an additional cost. The trunk has a capacity of 500 liters and can be enlarged to up to 1175 liters by folding down the rear seat.

In autumn 2010 the Linea was taken out of the range in Germany due to a lack of demand.

In spring 2012, the Linea received changes to the front and rear. For the facelift in spring 2014 it was given the name 'New Linea'. The model built up to then will continue to be offered as the "Linea Classic" in some countries.

Engines

Initially, a 1.4-liter gasoline engine or a supercharged 1.3-liter diesel engine with common rail injection was available. The more powerful 1.4-liter Turbo T-Jet followed in November and the Dualogic sequential semi-automatic transmission for diesel engines . The manual transmission has five gears.
