The Iveco T series was a heavy commercial vehicle series from the manufacturer Iveco . The model originally appeared in 1975 as Fiat 170/190 and was the successor to the Fiat 619 . From 1976 it was marketed as the Iveco T series. The T-series was the second “European truck” after the four-man club vehicle. At that time, Iveco was still relatively young; it was only founded in 1974. Until the appearance of the T series, Iveco's product range consisted exclusively of vehicles that had previously been offered by the commercial vehicle manufacturers Fiat , OM , Unic and Magirus-Deutz , which were integrated into Iveco . The T-series was the first truck to be offered uniformly throughout the group , although at the beginning it still bore the four brand names of the companies that had merged into Iveco. The model covered the medium to heavy weight class and was available with a short-distance and long-distance cab as well as with water- and air-cooled engines. In the truck market, the T series competed primarily with the Mercedes-Benz NG , the MAN F8 and the Volvo F12 .

The T series was later developed further and replaced by the Iveco TurboTech and Iveco TurboStar models .

A whole series of trucks from Uralsky Avtomobilny Zavod , Russia, will still be using the Iveco T series cab in 2016 thanks to a cooperation between the manufacturers. These include types such as the heavy Ural-5323 , but also the Ural-43206 and versions of the well-known Ural-4320 .
