Hermann Waibel

Hermann Waibel (born April 13, 1925 in Ravensburg ) is a painter in the field of concrete painting . He is a member of the German Association of Artists .

Life

After training as a restorer and church painter, Hermann Waibel studied from 1950–1951 at the State Academic External Office in Freiburg im Breisgau with Adolf Strübe . 1952–1957 he initially created figurative-abstract portraits before turning to the development of concrete structures from 1958 onwards. In his work he tries to find solutions for introducing light into the color in such a way that it can specifically show itself as a movement factor.
On the occasion of his 80th birthday, his hometown Ravensburg dedicated an exhibition to him in the municipal gallery in 2005 .

In 1981 Waibel received the culture award of the cities of Ravensburg and Weingarten ; since the mid-1980s he has been a member of the artists' association Constructive Tendencies . In 1996 Hermann Waibel was appointed professor by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
