The Fiat Croma is a mid-range station wagon produced by the car manufacturer Fiat from 2005 to 2010 . It was developed as part of the cooperation between Fiat and General Motors (GM) based on the Opel Signum .

history

The car was originally supposed to come onto the market as a Lancia and was developed in cooperation with GM's subsidiaries Opel and Saab . They had already worked with the latter on the Fiat Croma (Type 154) and Saab 9000 . A visible sign of this is the ignition lock, which, according to Saab tradition, is located in the center console, as it could not be arranged otherwise for technical reasons. The petrol engines (103 kW and 108 kW) came from Opel , while the diesel engines (88 kW and 147 kW) came from Fiat itself. In March 2005, however, the vehicle was presented at the Geneva Motor Show under the Fiat brand, and the market launch followed in June. In addition to the extensive standard equipment, various extra options could be ordered. In the Euro NCAP crash test in October 2005, the Croma received the top rating of five stars. At the beginning of 2008, as part of a comprehensive model update, the front section in particular was adapted to the more dynamic shapes of the Fiat Bravo . Higher quality materials were used in the interior. At the end of 2010 the model was discontinued without a direct successor.

Registration numbers

Between 2005 and 2011 a total of 8,380 Fiat Croma were newly registered in the Federal Republic of Germany. 2006 was the most successful sales year with 2,861 units.
