At the beginning of 1959 the Fiat 2100 appeared with a self-supporting body in the then modern trapezoidal shape as a four-door notchback sedan and as a five-door station wagon ( Familiare ). The body was also used with the six-cylinder engine for the Fiat 1800 and Fiat 2300 , as well as with the four-cylinder engine of the Fiat 1500 for the Fiat 1500L.
The 2100 had a six-cylinder in-line engine with 2054 cm³ displacement and an output of 60 kW, a four-speed gearbox with steering wheel shift and driven rear wheels. Its top speed was between 145 and 150 km / h, depending on the version.
The luxury version of the range was the 2100 Special . It had the same engine and wheelbase, but slightly larger external dimensions, a different radiator grille and better equipment.
Production was stopped in the fall of 1961. Its successor was the Fiat 2300 .
